Field Trip to California's Central Coast
Our April 2019 field trip to Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur and San Simeon including Hearst Castle was another Photo Club “Great Adventure”.
Thirty-five of our members and their guests signed up for the trip and most of them met along the coast while visiting the many recommended photography sites and well-known restaurants.
A post-trip Show & Tell Party, hosted by Marilyn Thomas was a fun time for all and the images shown by participants documented the adventure and fun on the trip. Many thanks to Chris and Pete Henshaw for being greeters and slide show operators.
Images shown included Monterey Bay’s Aquarium, sea otters playing, sea lions, elephant seals, many sea bird species, abundant wildflowers, panoramic landscapes and dramatic photos of sunsets and sunrises on the beaches. Images of dolphins putting on acrobatic shows next to surfers and even migrating gray whales were enjoyed by all. Hearst Castle State Park was a walking adventure and Point Lobo State Reserve was rich in sea life, wildflowers, and birds. Seventeen Mile Drive and lunch at Pebble Beach Golf course was spectacular as was the morning and evening walks on Carmel Beach. We met at San Simeon for an evening of telling tall tales around a warm bonfire and were entertained by a pod of dolphins just offshore.
This was a trip rich in photographic opportunities and was just plain having fun with friends.
We encourage everyone to join us on a future field trip as this will improve your image taking skills and computer workflow experiences.
A few of the pictures taken by our members are shown below.

There was so much to photograph at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Many in our group took Hearst Castle tours.
So many beautiful sunsets such as this one at Carmel beach
