We're an active group of photographers who enjoy doing stuff!

GET OFF YOUR DUFF! -- You might say that is the theme of our Photography Club when it comes to staying active and doing the things we love.

The Lincoln Hills Photography Club is comprised of residents of the Sun City Lincoln Hills Community located in Northern California in the small town of Lincoln located about 25 miles Northeast of Sacramento, CA.

Our membership includes photographers with a broad range of skills. Some are novices, while others are highly accomplished.

Many of us use simple point-and-shoot cameras, and just want to take better vacation and family photos. Still others pursue the creation of "Fine Art" photography.  There are even some of us who produce hand-crafted "colorized" black and white prints using PanPastels, and still others who produce greeting cards and photo books with their images.

Photographic interests range from Landscape to Street Photography, from Nature/Wildlife to Abstract Images, from Still Life to Portrait Photography and more.

If you've always wanted to get out and photographically explore the greater Sacramento and Bay Area regions, but were reluctant to travel on your own, the Lincoln Hills Photography Club's organized Field Trips may offer just what you need.

Our members enjoy many opportunities to enjoy organized Photo Adventures.  The club has conducted numerous Field Trips throughout Northern California including Tahoe, the Eastern Sierra and Death Valley.  The Club also schedules simple one-day outings as well as flash mobs that are designed to spontaneously take advantage of a photo-worthy event.

Throughout the year Lincoln Hills Photography Club members showcase their photographs at various venues within the greater Sacramento area.  The venue, located right here in Lincoln, is: Simple Pleasures Restaurant.  Other exhibition opportunities include The Art League of Lincoln, with a gallery in the heart of downtown, twice yearly exhibits in the Orchard Creek rotunda, a yearly exhibit in the Display Case outside the Needle Arts Room and the Spa exhibit.

Club members Rhonda Campbell and Klara Kleman coordinate the Club's Exhibit opportunities along with the assistance of Larry White who helps with the installation of the various exhibits. You can get more information and view photo galleries on the Exhibit page.

Our General Meeting is always held on the second Wednesday of every month in the Presentation Hall at Kilaga Springs Lodge from 8:30am to 10:30am.  The meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in photography and who would like to learn more about the Club and meet our members.

Typically the meetings will feature a presentation from well known, and well respected Northern California area photographers during which they showcase their work, presenting insights on how they produce them. Twice a year the Club schedules a Show & Tell meeting in which members are encouraged to present their images be they in digital display form or printed images. During the month of December, the General Meeting is scheduled at Maridian's Sports Cafe as a holiday breakfast.

The Photo Enhancement SIG meets the first Wednesday of every month from 8:30am to 10:30am in the Multi Purpose Room at Orchard Creek Lodge. Our emphasis is on how to make a good photo better and how to rescue failures that are worthy of saving. We also talk about taking a good photo and turning it into a work of art.

We discuss software tools such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements, Photo 10 as well as other tools such as Photomatix Pro for creating HDR photos and onOne and Topaz as well as other plugins for Photoshop and Lightroom.

The Round Table SIG meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month in the Multi Purpose room at Orchard Creek lodge from 8:30am to 10:30am. The format of this meeting is open discussions where everybody is invited to join the comments or ask questions pertaining to Photography.

The Print Special Interest Group meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month in the Orchard Creek Lodge Multi-purpose Room, from 10:30am to 11:30am, immediately after the Round Table SIG.

The SIG is dedicated to advancing the art of putting images on paper.  Members are encouraged to present their photographs for discussion and evaluation.  We also explore printing techniques, printing papers and...
