Online Enhancement SIG Photo Challenge slated for June 3rd at 9:00 AM.

Here are your images for the June Image Processing Interpretive Challenge.

Here's a chance to see how your creative interpretation of an image compares with those of other Photo Club members.

Below are three unprocessed images (as they came out of the camera - in compressed png file format).  The images are from noted British Photographer Nigel Danson. You are encouraged to pick one image to download and process it in a way that you think is appropriate, creative or unique to your vision.

What is special about this set of challenge photos, besides their beauty, is the fact that the original RAW files are available for download from Nigel’s Website via a Google Drive with a fast download speed. The files are unprocessed just as them came out of the camera with all the raw data intact.

There are no rules other than you must still be able to recognize the enhanced photo as being derived from the original photo. You can turn it into a work of art such as a painting, a sketch, a cartoon, an abstract or you can just make it a better photo. It's up to you. Feel free to let your creativity and imagination run wild or show off your skills at creating a great photo using your favorite post processing software.

The June 3rd Enhancement Sig will be held Online on Wednesday starting at 9:00 AM.

Kate McCarthy will be hosting the meeting using the Video Conferencing platform

"Go To Meeting".  She will be sending invitations to join the meeting via emails that

will include the necessary information and "links" needed to join in the meeting.

In the meantime, download and enjoy these images.  If we cannot move to an online interactive video conferencing meeting, we will review the images at a future SIG meeting when we can again be together in person.

The images are approximately 15Mb and in the png file format which supports lossless compression of the RAW camera file, and can be edited by virtually all of the photo editing software programs used by club members.

To download your chosen image simply "Mouse Over" the image where you will see a Download Icon in the bottom right side of the image.  Clicking on the Icon will spawn a new page with the image displayed at full resolution.  Right Click the image and it will download to your default download folder on your computer.

It is highly recommended that you save your processed image

at full resolution for the SIG meeting.

The files were originally posted on Nigel’s Blog as a photo challenge to encourage his blog visitors to download and process the images as a challenge/competition.  Over 1,000 processed images were submitted and the top selections were then posted on a subsequent blog post.
