After a few days at Death Valley and before we went to Trona Pinnacles, we stopped at Ballarat, ate lunch at a picnic table next to the store and had a few drinks.

Three and one-half miles on a dirt road from California 178, is the town of Ballarat. It’s almost a ghost town. The store, when open, has cold drinks for a reasonable price.
