Festivals - Day of the Dead
The annual traditional Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) celebrations are family-focused events that originated in pre-Hispanic times in central Mexico. It is widely observed in Mexico and in other places, especially among people of Mexican heritage.

It is celebrated to honor and remember deceased loved ones. It is believed that the souls of the dead return to visit the living families in homes, businesses, and cemeteries.

The Photo Club announced the festival in Lincoln, California, on November 2, 2024, and the following information was provided from that event by Jim Sakaguchi:

Experience the layers of color, culture, and community at our 6th annual Day of the Dead Festival at Beermann Plaza. Immerse yourself in Aztec dancers, heart-and-soul altar exhibits by our community members, mouthwatering street eats, funky artisan local vendors, and live music that’ll have you dancing. Bring your smartphones and cameras.
