Scottish Festival

The Scottish Games Festival was held in April at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland.

Bagpipe players were everywhere. Strong men threw heavy weights over very high bars.

A half-hour parade with really “different” people in unusual costumes marched through the center of the Fairgrounds around noon. Baton twirling men in kilts marched the field, and a horse-drawn carriage demonstrated how well-trained horses could even back up the wagon.
