Foresthill is 34 miles from Lincoln Hills. A few events have interesting photographic opportunities. Check out the Heritage Festival, the Classic Car Show, and the Independence Day Parade. Some happenings are shown in the attached Gallery.

 

To get there: Exit Rt. 80 just beyond Auburn at Foresthill Road, and follow it until you get to the town of Foresthill.

 

To get back home, you might be interested in trying the following loop from Foresthill:

Sugar Pine Reservoir is an easy 17 miles. Iowa Hill is another 5 miles, on a somewhat winding road. The restaurant in Iowa Hill, if open, has an interesting “money” ceiling, and perhaps some interesting characters. Continuing on Iowa Hill Road another 10 very winding miles, you pass Rt. 80, and come to the old town of Colfax. A fast way to return to Lincoln Hills is Rt. 80, but perhaps a more interesting, but winding, way is to go through Higgins Corner, to Elders Corner, to Virginiatown, to Rt.193 and Lincoln.
