2015 Christmas Party... a deligthful blend of camaraderie, good cheer and fun!

Story By Vicki White

For the second year in a row, the Photography Group’s Christmas Brunch was a rousing success!  A buffet which included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, country potatoes and pancakes would be hard to beat.  Our room was filled to maximum capacity almost immediately.

Dale Petersen greeted us all at the door, checked us in and gave us our prized raffle tickets.  Truman Holtzclaw captured the moment with pictures of each member.  To see Truman's photos click on the Party Gallery button at the bottom of this column. The “prize” table groaned under the weight of all the donated prizes.  Almost the entire club was able to garner a treasure.  A few were “gag” gifts which amused everyone, while others were high dollar items.  This highlights the fact that we all buy something that seemed so vital to our photography lives only to prove we have now moved on to even better and more expensive things!  The rubber ducky brought a smile to everyone while Bill Jensen walked off with it.  The new copies of Photoshop Elements 14 made Pam and Carole very happy.  Truman chose a very nice tripod to add to his collection.  The beautiful landscape scene he donated captivated everyone but most of us didn’t have a big enough wall for it.  Pete Henshaw claimed it for himself.

One of the nicest things to come out of this frenzy of giving and getting was the opportunity to help a family less fortunate than ourselves who wished for a family portrait for their holiday.  Truman volunteered to take the photo and Patrick Jewel will provide the prints for this deserving family.

The group broke up after the raffle to finish visiting with members they hadn’t been able to talk to earlier.  From start to finish this was a happy holiday event for members and their spouses.  Start saving your “treasures” for next year’s breakfast!  See you all there.
