Logistics: The shortest route to Lone Pine through South Lake Tahoe is 340 miles from SCLH. In the winter months, that route is closed, so another, longer route is needed.

Lone Pine has many interesting sights. There is easy access to Manzanar National Historic Site, Alabama Hills, Olancha, Lone Pine Film History Museum, Keeler, and Owens Lake. It's a good place to stay on the way to Death Valley.
