"Seven Days in Spring" Club Project Proposal

At our October 9, 2024, General Meeting, Ron Nabity reviewed his proposal for a Club project/challenge to capture a one-week snapshot of life in Sun City Lincoln Hills (SCLH).  This would include photos and captions that describe the variety of people, activities and lifestyle in SCLH.  Ron's presentation was recorded in a brief video which can be reviewed below.  His proposal was followed by an interesting exchange of suggestions and comments from our Club membership which are included in this 30 minute video.

                           Announcing Overnight Field Trip!

Spring on the Coast – Point Reyes and Tomales Bay

Tuesday to Thursday, May 20th to 22nd, check out on 23rd, 2025

Visit and photograph the scenic coastal areas of Point Reyes National Seashore and Tomales Bay, north of San Francisco and south of Bodega Bay.

The area is made of rolling green hills, colliding with Pacific Ocean. Seascape and landscape encompassing beaches, cliffs, wildflowers, Point Reyes lighthouse, historic coast guard station at Chimney Rock and coastal wildlife will be your photographic opportunity. The area is sprinkled with several small towns like Point Reyes Station, Marshall, Tomales and for if your a movie lover, Bodega Bay where the movie The Birds was filmed.

For those of you wanting a view of Tomales Bay from the water, we have arranged a local expert to cruise the bay. Space is limited and we need to be on the water at high tide, see details in travel packet. A fellow member also relayed information about local safaris, this also is in the packet.

We are recommending staying at Tomales Bay Resort and Marina located at 12938 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Inverness, CA. Space is limited. Room rates range from $175 to $285 plus taxes and fees per night. You can start booking March 1st.  More information included in travel packet.

Please email Jim Sakaguchi at jimlhpc@gmail.com if you are planning to attend. We will be holding a pre-meeting to go over the travel packet.

You may view the detailed travel packet [HERE].

Rhonda Campbell coordinated the Orchard Creek Rotunda Exhibit, which was held from July to August 2024. Due to the COVID crisis, it's been a while since LHPC members have had exhibits in Orchard Creek.  It was exciting that many photographers participated, and several sold their photographs.

Return to this site beginning in the Spring or Summer of 2025 for potential news about future exhibit plans at Orchard Creek.
