“PhotoLemur is the world's first automatic photo enhancement solution that instantly makes your photos much better with the help of computer science & artificial intelligence.”
Second, the meeting will feature an Open Forum for members to discuss a range of topics related to enhancing the Club, and enriching the membership experience. The forum will give members an opportunity to provide feedback to Club leadership on such topics as the Club's organization and focus.
Pick the subject(s) closest to your heart, do some serious thinking, and be prepared to present and discuss what you like, don’t like, and any suggestions you have for improvement. The General Meeting page offers some teaser topics to get your mind churning HERE

Death Valley Photo Field Trip was a Rousing Success!!
In early March, 29 club members once again packed their bags and camera gear to head out on another great photographic field trip to Death Valley National Park. The sweeping sand dunes, wildflowers and roaming rocks were the focus of the trip.
Special thanks goes out to the trip planners: Charlie Schuman, Kathy Houston, Truman Holtzclaw and Les Thomas. These folks prepared a comprehensive Information package with all the trip details.

Kathleen McCarthy prepared a beautiful journal capturing the many special highlights of the group's Death Valley adventure. You can read Kathleen's journal and view the photo gallery HERE

Old Sacramento Nights Field Trip a Hit!
On February 13, eleven club members, armed with their trusty tripods, took on the night lights on a Flash Field Trip to Old Sacramento.
Old Sacramento is filled with endless photo opportunities. It has many unique features like riverboats, railroad exhibits, horse drawn carriages and historical landmarks. It is also known for its robust nightlife--its streets are lined with restaurants, clubs and museums.

Members' Show and Tell was Focus of March 8th General Meeting
The General Meeting on March 8 featured the works of 8 club photographers in the biannual 'Show and Tell' event. The topics ranged from enchanting bird and flower images and artistic photo effects to a slide show featuring the launch of a Disney sponsored Mickey Mouse Hot Air Balloon. The limited participation was due to the concurrent Death Valley Field Trip that drew 29 members, many of whom would have participated in the Show and Tell.
Showing their photos and slide presentations were:
Dennis Berry, Bob Baikauskas, Margie Buhler
Rhonda Campbell, John Campbell,
Jim Cormier, Greg Ferguson, Bill Jensen,
Mike Johnson, and Bill Szabo

Our last display featured photos taken in and around the SCLH Community.
The Needle Arts Display Case Will be Available From May 10th Through June 12th

Whether it is a face that forms the foundation of your world or one that passed through your life in the click of a shutter, now is your chance to share it with a large and varied audience.
The challenge is to reveal something appealing, artistically provocative or intriguing through posed or candid shots. All pieces submitted must be no smaller than 4” x 6,” no larger than 8” x 10,” and must be mounted on lightweight material (cardboard, etc.).
Framed work cannot be accepted. Please make arrangements to submit your work to Jeff Andersen no later than Friday, April 28. You may submit up to three photographs, although all may not be included in the exhibit due to space limitations.

Additional Field Trips are Planned for This Coming Spring, Summer & Fall
Below is a listing of upcoming planned Field Trips. For those who are newer to the club, our field trips go far beyond just going on a "photo shoot". They are planned to be memorable "Adventures".
You are allowed to bring guests on these field trips unless it is specifically limited to a certain number of "spots". For those trips where we are traveling overnight we normally have a "Pre-Trip Planning Party" with loads of information, handouts and helpful tips. We also have after-trip Show & Tell parties to share photos from the Adventure.

We are always looking for new ideas, so if you bring an idea, please bring a willingness to help do research & planning.
High Hand Nursery & Cafe - April 7th 2017
We have 36 participants so far, I'll have to cut this off if we get 40 participants so its time to make a commitment if you want to go. Guests are welcome on this trip but we do require you to "sign up".
Larry White's annual "Photo Safari at Ferrari" - Saturday, April 8, 2017
Our Lincoln Hills Photography Club's annual Ferrari Pond Trail photographic morning adventure - a walk in the wild with local legend Larry White. Will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM. If you want to go on one of these walking tours, call or email Larry - see the attached invitation for more details. When you sign up he will be able to notify you of any changes. This unique area is a living natural science laboratory, one of the many reasons SCLH is so special.
Table Mountain for Wildflowers and Waterfalls - April date to be announced
Bill & Dorothe Kress are carefully researching the conditions at Table Mountain (near Oroville). In the near future, they will select the best day to go.
Table Mountain is an incredible place for wildflowers, vistas and some epic waterfalls. The best time to go is within a narrow window of days and changes from season to season. Look for an announcement in the near future for this special trip.
July - Loon Lake Galaxy Shoot and Tahoe Wildflowers and Waterfalls - Dates TBD
In July we are looking at 2 trips. One for the Milky Way at Loon Lake and one for the expected abundant Wildflowers and Waterfalls in the Lake Tahoe area.
September
In September we are planning on a return to the Reno Hot Air Balloon festival which features over 100 hot air balloons.
Photo Flash Mobs - Anytime the light is right!
Flash Mob Trips are those spontaneous happenings usually in the local area. Notices for these trips are sent to you via email on somewhat short notice. They are fun and you will always learn something new. Examples in the past have been some night photography learning opportunities such as shooting the Super Moon and photographing the city lights in Old Sacramento.
