Deals From the Internet

I don't like to spend any more money than I have to when I purchase a service or product. That applies to photography related purchases be it cameras and accessories or software. That's why I'm always on the lookout for deals. As some of you may have discovered our website has a DEALS page. Here you will find a list of deals I have found. As an example here are a few of the currently active deals.

1. Lucis Pro 6 - A software program to enhance your photos. Our club vice president Truman originally paid $150 for this software and gives it high praise. Now it is available for $6. That's not a typo. They are calling it quits and having a fire sale until they close for good August 31st.

2. Wacom Intuos Pro Professional Pen & Touch Tablet - $299 - Limited Time - If you do much photo editing a tablet is the way to go. B&H has this tablet on sale for a limited time.

3. There are also a couple of free deals. On1 software is offering Effects 10 for free and NIK which Google use to sell for $150 is now free.

To find these deals and more go to our DEALS page.

Did you know that B&H has Daily Deals? They do and while most of the items are things I don't need or I'm not interested in I do occasionally see something I can use. Recently I purchased a well reviewed Vello Freewave Fusion wireless transmitter and receiver to use as a remote shutter release for 50% off. A few months ago I purchased a ring light to help with my macro photography again for 50% off. You can sign up to receive information about these deals and see current deals by going HERE .

Adorama also has deals which can be found HERE .

While I'm on the subject of deals I'll mention GreenToe again. They work like Priceline works for hotels. You select an item and tell them what you are willing to pay for that item. They then try and find a dealer who will sell you that item at that price. All their vendors are authorized dealers for the items being sold and they come with the manufacturers USA warranty. No grey market stuff. I saved around $600 when I bought my camera a couple of years ago at a time when no legitimate dealers were discounting them. They sell cameras, lenses, flashes and some accessories like tripods, bags and filters. Check them out HERE .

My motto is to never pay retail for anything. While that's not always possible I do a pretty good job of living up to that motto.
